Asheville abounds with neat things to do, both culturally and in the natural world. I am particularly excited about the ridiculous number of waterfalls within an hour drive of my house. Although they are low elevation and eroded by eons, these mountains receive plentiful yearlong rainfall, and spectacular waterfalls are everywhere! We have been to many of them already, and I plan to visit as many as I can. I have plenty of time, because I don’t think we’ll be moving again.
A part of me wants to write a brief synopsis of each different outing we took to see all of these falls, but the stories are all pretty much the same. We drive to the spot, we hike to the falls, we swim, climb, and stand in the spray. It’s always an amazing experience, but probably not so fun to read about. Suffice it to say, I love it every time and each spot has its own unique ambiance and charm.
